Meet Our Owners

Originally from the South, Dewayne and Lila Carson were delighted when they got the opportunity to return. Dewayne was stationed in New Mexico when his boss asked him to choose a location for his next transfer. He relocated to Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta and retired in November, 1997. Dewayne and Lila looked around for a year before choosing Cypress Lakes for their home.

When Dewayne's parents, William and Willie Mae, came to visit, they loved it so much that they sold their home of 45 years in Jackson, Mississippi,and had their son build them a new home here! Now the two generations of Carsons are next-door neighbors.

Angela sums it up best: "It is tranquil, private, and yet you have the security of a neighborhood where residents are a mixture of working and retired people. This gives the residents who work a sense of security that the neighborhood and their homes are being watched by the retirees during the day. It's like you are on vacation when you are home. It is really like living at a vacation resort." The people here are truly the best form of advertising for Cypress Lakes.

Wade and Angela Crance have resided at Cypress Lakes since 1993 with their two children, Rylin and Stan. Angela works at Valdosta Technical College as their Foundation Director, and Wade works at Lowes Distribution Center. Angela said the area school system was influential in their deciding to move to Cypress Lakes. Her children first attended Lake Park Elementary and now attend Lowndes High. She feels their excellent grades are attributed to these two schools.

Wade is an avid bass fisherman at Cypress Lakes, but he usually throws most of his catch back. His friend convinced him to keep a 14 pound, 6 ounce bass that he is pictured here with.
